Newborn sleep monitor system

What was the client’s initial situation? What challenges were they facing?
The client possessed advanced, specialized expertise in measurement methods and data interpretation. However, limited experience in electronics development resulted in technical issues within the initial Proof of Concept, preventing accurate validation of the idea. Additionally, unfamiliarity with IoT technologies (specifically BLE communication) and embedded software development prompted the client to seek external technological support.
How was the client handling the problem before we stepped in?
Hardware production had been previously supported by external supportes. However, embedded software remained largely overlooked, becoming a significant weak point of the overall project.
How did GoodByte solve the problem?
Following a thorough needs assessment, the project was divided into two key phases. The first phase focused on delivering a dedicated development kit, enabling efficient testing of multiple hardware configurations based on the target electronic system.
How did the changes help the customer?
This approach enabled rapid and cost-effective testing of various sensors designed to measure a broad range of vital parameters. Instead of developing dedicated versions of each of the system’s three devices, a general- purpose test setup was used.
The resulting Proof of Concept proved effective enough to help secure funding for the next stage of development.
Early testing of the system’s core components in multiple configurations provided valuable insights, reducing the number of iterations expected during the final product development phase.
